Dr Michael Giffen is a Consultant in Oral Surgery and the Clinical Lead for Oral Surgery in Herefordshire. He has extensive experience in the management of diseases of the mouth and jaw.
After qualifying from the University of Glasgow, Dr Giffen trained in hospitals in Scotland, Liverpool, Newcastle, and Switzerland. He completed specialist training in Wessex and was appointed Consultant at Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth.
He provides general oral surgical services and has a major sub-specialty interest in managing oral mucosal disorders, including white, red, and pigmented oral lesions. He also carries out complex impacted wisdom tooth extractions and manages cysts of the jaw.
Dr Giffen is a member of the multidisciplinary pain team that manages facial pain, including trigeminal neuralgia.
